Cleaning Plastic Sex Toys

Plastic is one of the easier materials to clean as far as sex toys go. Because plastic sex toys tend to be less expensive than ones made out of other materials, people may not care for these devices as much as they do their more expensive sex toys, but they do need to be cleaned thoroughly for the sake of safety.

You can clean off plastic sex toys with an antibacterial soap and water. Some plastic sex toys may become discolored over time and, if it doesn’t come out with a bit of elbow grease, you can decide for yourself whether or not it makes the toy unusable for you or if it doesn’t matter. If a toy hasn’t been properly cared for, however, it may be better to replace it.

You can actually sterilize plastic using a UV light, and you can find options for these at many different stores. The best method of all, however, is to use a condom over the top of the sex toy, which prevents most contamination and which makes it a lot easier to clean it off when you’re done, prolongs the life of the toy, and makes enjoying the toy a lot safer for everybody involved.
